Digger Derrick Trucks by Versalift are the most versatile in the business
Digger Derrick Trucks by Versalift are designed to be the highest quality, safest and most reliable utility vehicles that do the demanding work of digging, setting, rigging and removing utility poles. The set of available customizations to Versalift Digger Derrick trucks ensure that our customers get the exact tool that their organizations and people need to get the job done right.
Versalift offers a line of eight Digger Derrick trucks, each of which can be customized and built to the specifications of our customers. Our Digger Derricks have maximum sheave heights in several ranges, either boom tip or turret-mounted winch. Standard winches come with one hundred feet of braided winch line, and can be customized to include a greater length of line.
Versalift Digger Derricks are built for incredible stability, with redundant safety features and a set of hydraulic systems to operate the booms, digger and winch, each working independently of the others. With a range of lift capacities, all of which are more than 20,000 pounds, the TMD 2000 series also has a range of sheave heights, from 42 feet to 50 feet, and an equally broad range of load capacity at 10’ radius.
Versalift Digger Derricks meet or exceed ANSI 10.31 specifications for insulation.
With two separate pressure gauges on the lower controls: one for the digger/winch and the other for the boom, the Versalift TMD 2000 series of Digger Derricks presents technicians with the tools they need to safely monitor their work. An engine kill switch comes standard on the lower controls.
Digger Drive – The digger drive is the hydraulic motor and gear set that drives the auger on the Digger Derrick truck. There are several options available on the digger drive itself, depending on the required torque output.

Transferrable Pole Guides – Pole guides function as stabilizing claws on the end of the boom, which work as guides to set poles into freshly dug holes. Custom placement of Pole guides is an option available to our customers.
Pole Guides can be pinned to the upper boom tip or the intermediate boom
Pole guides include hydraulic tilt and operation
Holding valves are included to lock both cylinders (one for oper/close, one for tilt) in position.
The vast majority of the Digger Derricks we build for our customers include both digger drive and pole guides. Digger Derricks can be ordered either without a digger drive, or without pole guides.

Because each Versalift Digger Derrick truck is crafted with very close attention to detail, you can expect the same levels of safety, quality and reliability in your customizations as you have come to expect of us.
All distribution and telecommunications fleets require the specific capabilities of a digger derrick truck. While some fleets span thousands of trucks and use highly specialized equipment, there are plenty of local power co-ops and other organizations with smaller fleets that need each utility vehicle they have to be extremely versatile. In the case of smaller fleets, Digger Derrick trucks are often ordered with aerial platforms, or buckets, that are pinned to the boom.
Every Versalift Digger Derrick comes with its own custom Capacity Chart
At Versalift, the load capacity of each Digger Derrick is determined by setting the boom angle at 80 degrees, and fully retracting the intermediate and upper booms, so that the outside edge of the sheave is 10 feet off the centerline of the rotation bearing of the boom. By testing load capacity on each Digger Derrick we build, we are able to assure the highest quality and deliver a custom capacity chart for each individual product.
